Job Description
Application Specialist – Business Analyst – ERP BA / projects / hands on
As an Application Specialist / Business Analyst your role will be to deliver and support solutions within and around the core ERP and wider business systems.
Working with managers and end users, you will be required to understand and specify business requirements large and small.
With your expertise in understanding systems and solving problems, you will manage the smooth delivery of new requirements both very ‘hands-on’ and working with and leading others.
The Role
- To understand and determine system needs via consultation, process analysis and observation
- Acting as project principal to develop and configure customised solutions
- Inspire, lead and guide other Application Specialists
- Using technical expertise to create reports, workflows and understand detailed data flow
- Integrating solutions with wider business systems
- Help maintain, support and improve existing solutions and systems
- Understanding the wider possibilities of technology and bring new ideas to reality
Key Skills
- Experience and knowledge of order processing ERP systems at high volume
- Technical relational data, reporting, data manipulation (e.g. Excel, BI tools)
- Strong analytical, problem solving and process analysis skills
- Excellent oral and written communicator, able to talk to technical and non-technical colleagues
- Self-driven, confident to lead and to listen to others
- Manage and track multiple project / workstreams
Desirable
- Experience of the K8 ERP system
- Knowledge of Builders’ Merchant operations and systems (or similar volume trades)
This is not a ‘pigeonholed’ role – it encompasses all areas of system delivery and support from creating an initial business specification, ‘hands-on’ building of that solution, then final delivery. A high degree of interpersonal, analytic, technical and project skills are needed.
