In this role, you will work on a mix of modern service-based systems and established WPF applications that interface directly with custom hardware. You will contribute to architectural decisions, write high‑quality C#, WPF and web technologies to help guide the evolution of systems that are actively used in demanding industrial environments.

Understanding and Experience
This role is suited to an experienced Software Engineer with considerable influence over design and architecture. You will be at the strategic core of our software development efforts and contribute to:
- Drive Architectural Design: Have meaningful input into the architectural design of new projects, ensuring robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions that adhere to SOLID principles and modern software engineering best practices.
- Innovation: Develop our new microservice project while ensuring seamless integration with our bespoke hardware for automated electrical testing. Engage with challenging projects at the forefront of automated testing, utilising the latest Microsoft technologies to push boundaries.
- Leadership & Growth: We foster a culture of ownership and growth. Here, your ideas will directly influence the design and direction of our software, with many opportunities to advance your career and expand your skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain desktop and/or web applications in C#, WPF, Vue.js, and related technologies.
- Collaborate closely with electrical, systems, and test engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
- Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and CI/CD processes.
- Maintain and enhance legacy systems while contributing to modernisation initiatives (including Azure migration).
- Document code, workflows, and technical findings clearly and consistently.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
On occasion the following duties will also be required:
- Support to Customer Service Department in resolution of installation, commissioning and in-service issues or problems, either at the factory or customer premises.
- Travel to customers’ premises, in the UK, Europe or Worldwide.
What We are Looking For
- Experience: Significant commercial experience in professional software development with a strong emphasis on SOLID principles and architectural design.
- Technical Mastery: Proficiency in C#, WPF, Vue.js, Microservices architecture.
- Design Leadership: A passion for high-quality code and a proven history in software design and architecture.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Participate in design discussions and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Bonus Points: Basic understanding of electronic circuits and their testing is advantageous. Experience in applying software solutions within industrial environments.
Salary £38 - 45k p.a. Flexible Working: Balance your work life with a mix of office (2 days per week) and home-based work.
