MK Search are working with a leading Tier 1 UK main contractor seeking an experienced Senior MEP Project Manager to join the team on a prestigious Grade I listed development in Central Manchester. This is a rare opportunity to take a senior leadership role on one of the region’s most technically complex schemes, with circa £80m of MEP services being delivered over the next 24 months. The project combines heritage restoration with modern building services, demanding strong technical expertise, coordination, and stakeholder management.

The Role

As Senior MEP Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the planning, coordination, and delivery of MEP services from pre-construction through to final handover. You will work closely with commercial, design, and construction teams to ensure the successful delivery of this high-profile project.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the delivery of large-scale MEP packages on a major construction project
  • Managing MEP subcontractors and consultants to programme, cost, and quality targets
  • Overseeing design development, technical assurance, and coordination
  • Driving health & safety, commissioning, and handover processes
  • Acting as the key MEP interface between site, design, and client teams

About You

To be considered, you will ideally have:

  • Proven experience as a Senior MEP Project Manager (or strong MEP Project Manager ready to step up)
  • A background working for main contractors on large-scale, complex projects
  • Strong technical knowledge across mechanical and electrical services
  • Experience on technically challenging or city-centre schemes (heritage experience beneficial but not essential)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills
