A leading international engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Project Controls Engineer to join the delivery team on a major hyperscale data centre project in Riyadh. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the world's leading engineering businesses, working on a landmark mission-critical development whilst playing a key role in the planning, reporting and overall project controls function.

Working closely with the Project Manager and wider leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate programme management, project reporting, resource planning and performance analysis throughout the project lifecycle.

The Role

As Project Controls Engineer, you will take ownership of project planning and controls across a complex MEP installation, ensuring the project remains on programme whilst providing accurate reporting and analysis to the senior management team.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Managing and maintaining Primavera P6 project programmes.
  • Monitoring project progress against programme and identifying critical path risks.
  • Producing weekly and monthly project progress reports and client presentations.
  • Preparing 2-week and 4-week lookahead programmes.
  • Monitoring labour productivity and resource loading.
  • Performing Earned Value Analysis (EVA) and productivity reporting.
  • Supporting commercial reporting, progress applications and delay analysis.
  • Tracking procurement schedules, long lead equipment and material deliveries.
  • Reviewing contractor programmes and identifying programme risks.
  • Assisting with Extension of Time (EOT) assessments and change management.
  • Supporting Construction Managers with programme management throughout delivery.
  • Coordinating planning meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Providing project controls reporting to senior leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements

Applicants should ideally possess:

  • Previous experience as a Project Controls Engineer, Planning & Controls Engineer or Senior Planner.
  • Strong MEP construction background gained with a main contractor or specialist engineering contractor.
  • Previous experience delivering large-scale Data Centre, Mission Critical or similarly complex engineering projects.
  • Excellent Primavera P6 experience.
  • Good understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), resource loading and project performance reporting.
  • Experience producing client-facing progress reports and presentations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to analyse programme performance and recommend recovery strategies where required.
