We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the delivery team on a major hyperscale data centre development in Northumberland. This is an opportunity to take a senior delivery role on a large-scale, technically complex mission-critical project with a leading international main contractor, overseeing major construction packages from delivery through to commissioning and handover.
As Senior Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of key elements of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards. Key responsibilities will include:
- Taking overall responsibility for the delivery of major construction packages and workstreams.
- Managing project managers, construction managers, engineers and associated site teams.
- Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered in accordance with the construction programme.
- Working closely with the commercial, design, engineering, quality and commissioning teams.
- Monitoring programme performance and identifying potential risks, delays and mitigation measures.
- Managing subcontractor performance across safety, quality, programme and productivity.
- Chairing progress meetings and maintaining clear communication between the project team, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
- Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and client requirements.
- Managing interfaces between civil, structural, architectural and MEP packages.
- Supporting procurement, design coordination and construction planning activities.
- Driving works through testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover.
- Providing regular progress reporting to the Project Director and senior management team.
We are looking for an experienced construction professional with a proven track record of delivering major, technically demanding projects. Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Senior Project Manager or Project Manager with a major main contractor.
- Experience delivering data centres, mission-critical facilities, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, semiconductor or similarly complex projects.
- A strong understanding of large-scale construction delivery and multidisciplinary package management.
- Experience managing large subcontractor packages and site delivery teams.
- Strong programme management and construction planning capabilities.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- The ability to identify project risks and drive solutions in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Experience taking projects or major packages through construction, commissioning and handover.
Previous hyperscale data centre experience would be highly advantageous.
This is a key senior appointment on a significant hyperscale development with a strong pipeline of work. The position offers the opportunity to join an experienced delivery team working on one of the UK's major mission-critical construction projects.
