We are currently recruiting for an experienced QA/QC Manager to join the delivery team on a major hyperscale data centre development in Northumberland.

This is an opportunity to work on a large-scale, technically complex mission-critical project with a leading international main contractor, taking responsibility for quality assurance and quality control throughout the construction and commissioning lifecycle.

The Role

As QA/QC Manager, you will lead the implementation and management of the project quality strategy, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with approved specifications, drawings, client requirements and relevant industry standards.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining the project Quality Management Plan.
  • Managing QA/QC procedures, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and associated quality documentation.
  • Ensuring construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications and project standards.
  • Coordinating inspections across civil, structural, architectural and MEP packages.
  • Managing NCRs, defects and corrective actions through to satisfactory close-out.
  • Working closely with project managers, package managers, subcontractors and the commissioning team.
  • Conducting regular site quality inspections and audits.
  • Monitoring subcontractor quality performance and ensuring appropriate records are maintained.
  • Managing quality documentation, handover records and project close-out requirements.
  • Supporting testing, commissioning and final client handover.

We are looking for an experienced construction QA/QC professional with a strong understanding of quality management on major technically demanding projects.

Ideally, you will have

  • Previous experience as a QA/QC Manager, Quality Manager or Senior QA/QC Engineer.
  • Experience working on data centres, mission-critical facilities, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, semiconductor or similarly complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction quality processes, ITPs, inspections, NCR management and project handover.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple construction packages.
  • Excellent documentation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • A strong understanding of relevant quality standards and construction regulations.
  • Experience working for a main contractor or major specialist contractor.

Previous hyperscale data centre experience would be highly advantageous.
