A leading M&E Contractor is looking to appoint an experienced MEP Procurement Manager to join their team on a major data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany. The company has built an excellent reputation for delivering large-scale, technically complex projects across the Data Centre, Commercial, Pharmaceutical and Industrial sectors. With a significant pipeline of secured work, they are continuing to expand throughout the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe.

This is a key procurement position on a major European data centre project, offering a rotational working arrangement, market-challenging salary and package, and excellent long-term career prospects. Following the Frankfurt project, there will be opportunities to remain in Germany or move onto other projects across Europe.

MEP Procurement Manager Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Project Director, Commercial Manager and wider MEP delivery team, you will take responsibility for the procurement of mechanical and electrical packages, equipment and materials required for successful project delivery.
  • Managing the MEP procurement process across the project.
  • Developing and maintaining procurement schedules aligned with the construction programme.
  • Procuring major mechanical and electrical equipment, materials and subcontract packages.
  • Managing tender enquiries, bid analysis and supplier negotiations.
  • Identifying and managing long-lead MEP equipment to protect key programme dates.
  • Working closely with engineering and construction teams to ensure technical requirements are incorporated into procurement packages.
  • Liaising with the commercial team on budgets, package values and procurement strategy.
  • Managing supplier and subcontractor relationships throughout the procurement process.
  • Monitoring manufacturing, delivery and logistics schedules.
  • Identifying procurement risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Ensuring procurement activities are completed in line with project specifications, programme and commercial requirements.
  • Supporting value engineering and identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies.
  • Maintaining accurate procurement trackers, reports and documentation.
  • Providing regular procurement updates to senior project management.

MEP Procurement Manager Requirements

  • Previous experience as an MEP Procurement Manager, M&E Procurement Manager or Senior MEP Buyer.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical packages, equipment and materials.
  • Experience procuring packages for large-scale, technically complex construction projects.
  • A strong understanding of long-lead equipment and MEP supply chains.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Data centre experience would be highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience working on European projects would be beneficial but is not essential.
