A leading M&E Contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Planner to join their team on a major data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany. The company has an excellent reputation for delivering large-scale, technically complex projects across the Data Centre, Commercial, Pharmaceutical and Industrial sectors. With continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured projects, they are expanding their operations throughout the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe.
This position will operate on a rotational basis and offers a highly competitive salary and package. There is also excellent long-term security, with opportunities to remain in Germany or move onto other major European projects following completion of the Frankfurt project.
MEP Planner Responsibilities
Working closely with the Project Director, MEP delivery teams and commercial team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring the MEP programme throughout the project lifecycle. Duties will include:
- Developing and maintaining detailed MEP construction programmes
- Planning electrical and mechanical works from installation through testing, commissioning and handover
- Producing short and medium-term look-ahead programmes
- Monitoring project progress against the baseline programme
- Working closely with Mechanical and Electrical Package Managers to capture accurate progress
- Identifying programme risks, delays and critical path activities
- Producing progress reports and programme updates for senior management and the client
- Supporting sequencing and coordination of MEP works with CSA activities
- Reviewing subcontractor programmes and ensuring alignment with the master construction programme
- Assisting project teams with recovery and mitigation programmes where required
- Supporting commissioning and handover planning
- Attending planning, progress and coordination meetings
MEP Planner Requirements
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience as an MEP Planner, M&E Planner or Construction Planner
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical construction sequencing
- Experience working for a main contractor or M&E contractor on major construction projects
- Experience with Primavera P6
- Strong understanding of critical path analysis and programme management
- Experience producing detailed construction programmes and progress reports
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Data centre experience would be highly advantageous
- Previous experience working on projects in Europe would be beneficial but is not essential
