MK Search are currently working with a well established MEP contractor with a strong presence across the pharma, data centre and mission critical sectors delivering high value technical engineering projects in partnership with leading main contractors. Due to continued expansion and a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming projects, the business is looking to appoint an experienced MEP Operations Director/Country manager to oversee the successful delivery of multiple hyperscale data centre developments in their German Business unit. This is a rare opportunity to join a highly ambitious organisation at an exciting stage of growth, playing a key role in shaping project delivery, operational strategy, and future business direction. Reporting to the CEO, you will take responsibility for the operational performance of multiple large-scale projects across Europe, leading high-performing delivery teams and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget. The business has established itself as a leading specialist within the data centre market and continues to secure work with some of the industry's most recognisable clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership across multiple mission-critical projects throughout Europe
- Oversee projects from pre-construction and design development through to commissioning and handover
- Drive operational excellence across programme delivery, commercial performance, quality, and health & safety
- Lead and mentor Project Directors, MEP Leads, Senior Project Managers, and wider project teams
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and key stakeholders
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery
- Support business growth initiatives and contribute to long-term operational planning
- Ensure consistency of delivery standards across all projects and regions
- Monitor project performance, resource allocation, and overall business objectives
Candidate Requirements
- Strong MEP background with a proven track record delivering complex data centre projects
- Previous experience operating as an MEP Lead, Senior Project Manager, Project Director, Operations Manager, or similar senior leadership position
- Experience delivering large-scale mission-critical projects from pre-construction through to completion
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing multidisciplinary teams across multiple projects
- Commercially astute with a strong understanding of programme management and project controls
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness to travel across Europe as required
