MK Search & Selection are currently working with a well respected main contractor with a strong presence across sectors who are looking for a mechanically biased MEP manager to join their team to work on a £65m M&E pharma project they are delivering in Surrey. Reporting to an MEP lead, you will join a talented team from pre-construction phase tasked with taking control of a complex part of the mechanical package before going to site to manage and motivate the specialist contractor through the scheme to PC.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake the day to day management of the MEP aspects of the project to ensure the effective service delivery of the technical services operations and that they are fully compliant with legislation and the client contractual specifications / ER's.
- Support the Design Manager via managing the MEP Sub-Contractors and design team to ensure the effective co-ordination of services within the overall building design.
- Attending meetings & presenting feedback and progress reports to managers and clients.
- Inspecting, testing and checking installations, QA reporting, including in putting into the void closure process.
- Ensuring building regulations and health and safety requirement compliance.
- Working to ensure sustainable environmental operations by reducing energy wastage to a minimum within the building services.
- Advising clients on how the building services will operate once the building is complete.
- Operation and fault diagnosis using the Building Management System (BMS).
- Ensure everything is delivered to the agree programme, quality, financial and contractual obligations.
- Ensure all works undertaken safely and in accordance with the Group policies and legislation.
- Innovation- In collaboration with supply chain, develop awareness of new initiatives, products, and systems to ensure leading edge advice on Engineering Services and Sustainability.
- Managing the commissioning process including ensuring sub contractors commissioning is witnessed and signed off.
- Ensuring that the O&M's including as fitted drawings and all commissioning documentation is available at PC.
Ideally the person will come from a mechanical engineering background and have experience in the technical engineering and management duties.
