Mechanical Project Manager Opportunity – Leading M&E Contractor – NW Projects
MK Search are working closely with a tier 1 M&E Contractor with a turnover of c. £80m who are looking to engage with an experienced Mechanical Project Manager for their Manchester office for projects across the Northwest.
The company in question are a well respected contractor who have longstanding client relationships in the commercial fit out, data centre and healthcare construction sectors. They deliver full M&E services but also operate as a full turnkey main contractor delivering to prestigious clients.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, quality, and legislative standards from project start to completion.
- Deliver projects to required quality standards, on time and within budget, meeting both client and company expectations.
- Lead and coordinate on‑site teams, subcontractors, and the supply chain to ensure effective project execution.
- Implement and uphold quality assurance processes and HSQE procedures, including ISO accreditations.
- Prepare weekly site condition and safety reports, addressing issues promptly.
- Maintain and ensure understanding of all programmes, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Ensure contract terms are understood and followed by the project team.
- Keep site records accurate and up to date in line with company and legal requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and increase value throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proactively address and elevate potential risks or issues.
- Uphold high site standards consistently throughout the project.
- Verify that all site personnel have the necessary training and competencies.
- Lead and contribute to subcontractor meetings, including preparation of minutes where required.
- Complete all testing documentation and relevant records.
- Conduct site surveys to define scope of work for pricing.
- Possess a basic understanding of cost estimation for small variations and minor works.
- Monitor and track costs to ensure delivery within approved budgets.
