We are working with a tier 1 M&E contractor with a dominant presence across the commercial, data centre and life sciences construction sectors seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join their expanding London division. With a substantial pipeline of secured work and continued project wins across Central London, the business is in a significant growth phase. The Role
As HSE Manager, you will take full ownership of health & safety strategy, compliance and implementation across multiple live projects throughout Central London. This is a leadership position responsible for driving standards, managing HSE Advisors and embedding a proactive safety culture across site teams. You will work closely with senior operational leaders and clients to ensure best-in-class HSE performance across technically demanding M&E schemes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage health & safety across multiple Central London projects
- Oversee and approve all HSE documentation including RAMS, CPPs and risk assessments
- Ensure full compliance with UK health & safety legislation and CDM regulations
- Manage, mentor and support site-based HSE Advisors
- Conduct audits, inspections and performance reviews across sites
- Drive continuous improvement in HSE systems and procedures
- Lead incident investigations and ensure robust corrective actions
- Report on HSE performance to senior management and clients
- Promote a strong, positive safety culture across all project teams
Requirements
- Proven experience as a HSE Manager within construction (M&E experience highly desirable)
- Experience delivering commercial, data centre or life sciences projects preferred
- Strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation and CDM
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (essential)
- Chartered Membership of IOSH (desirable)
- Demonstrated experience managing HSE teams
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate effectively across multiple complex projects
