MK Search are working with a leading main contractor with a strong presence across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe delivering notable schemes across sectors who require a quantity surveyor on a brand new £200m data centre they have secured in Bedfordshire. Reporting to a commercial lead, you will join the project from the very beginning as part of a talented team, taking control of specific tasks and stages of the project through to PC. The company in question have a very exciting order book with further upcoming projects across the Bedfordshire and South East region as well as wider UK and Europe after the initial 2 year project.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit monthly valuations and applications for payment.
- Support the day-to-day commercial management of the project.
- Assist with the procurement and preparation of subcontract tender packages.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Monitor project costs, variations, and commercial performance.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the project's commercial and contractual requirements.
- Support the implementation of commercial strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
- Work closely with the wider project team to maximise commercial performance and manage risk.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' commercial experience, ideally with a main contractor.
- Previous experience delivering commercial or civil engineering projects, ideally within the commercial or residential sectors.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant commercial software.
