A leading M&E Contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Commissioning Manager to join their team on a major data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany. The company has an excellent reputation for delivering technically complex projects across the Data Centre, Commercial, Pharmaceutical and Industrial sectors and is continuing to grow its presence throughout the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Commissioning Manager with a strong MEP background to take a key role in the delivery of a major European data centre. The position is offered on a rotational basis, with a market-challenging salary and package alongside long-term opportunities in Germany and across Europe.
The Role
- As Commissioning Manager, you will take responsibility for managing and coordinating the commissioning process, working closely with the project team, specialist subcontractors, vendors, client and commissioning authority to ensure systems are successfully tested, commissioned and handed over.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the overall MEP commissioning strategy and programme
- Manage commissioning activities from pre-commissioning through to integrated systems testing and final handover
- Coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, BMS, controls and specialist commissioning activities
- Ensure commissioning works are aligned with the construction and project programmes
- Manage commissioning subcontractors, vendors and specialist suppliers
- Review commissioning plans, method statements, test scripts and technical documentation
- Monitor commissioning progress and identify risks to key milestones
- Coordinate system energisation, testing and witnessing activities
- Manage commissioning documentation, snagging and close-out
- Work closely with MEP Package Managers to ensure systems are ready for commissioning
- Coordinate with the client, consultants and commissioning authority
- Lead commissioning meetings and provide regular progress reports to senior management
- Support Integrated Systems Testing and final client demonstrations
- Ensure all commissioning activities are completed safely and in accordance with project requirements
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Commissioning Manager, MEP Commissioning Manager or Senior Commissioning Engineer
- Strong Mechanical and/or Electrical building services background
- Experience delivering commissioning on large-scale, technically complex projects
- Data centre or mission-critical project experience is highly advantageous
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, controls, testing and commissioning procedures
- Experience managing specialist subcontractors and equipment vendors
- Knowledge of commissioning documentation, test procedures and handover requirements
- Strong programme, coordination and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Previous European project experience would be beneficial but is not essential
