We are currently working with a medium sized M&E contractor with a turnover of circa £40m and a very exciting order book of notable projects who are looking for a mechanical project manager to work on a commercial decarbonisation programme in East London. Reporting to a contracts manager you will act as mechanical lead, delivering across multiple projects (combined mechanical value circa £5m) direct to the end client. You will have the support of a team tasked with managing and motivating specialist contractors and packages through to PC.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend post‑tender / pre‑contract review meetings with clients & main contractors to discuss and agree contract scope along with commercial and contractual matters.
  • Post contract award carry out initial equipment checks alongside our design team and advise the design team of any concerns at the earliest opportunity to avoid any procurement, programming or financial implications later.
  • Develop equipment procurement and buying schedules for allocated contracts, send out enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors based on received contract documents for completeness and better buying purposes.
  • Place subcontract & material orders to satisfy the requirements of our contracts to meet technical, programme, cost and quality compliance.
  • Monitor site labour and keep a record of site activities, numbers of operatives/sub‑contractors on site and cost checks against the tender estimates.
