A highly respected international M&E contractor is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join its growing UK operations on a flagship Ministry of Defence scheme in Bristol. Following the recent award of several major projects across the UK, the business has secured a strong long-term pipeline of work and is continuing to expand its specialist delivery teams. This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading contractor on a prestigious, technically complex project with genuine long-term career prospects.
Working alongside an experienced project and safety leadership team, you will play a key role in maintaining and driving high standards of health, safety and compliance across a major live construction environment.
The Role
As Health & Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting site teams in delivering best-in-class safety performance across all phases of the project. You will work closely with operational management, subcontractors and client representatives to ensure full compliance and a proactive safety culture throughout the scheme. This position offers the opportunity to become part of a long-term project with a clearly defined progression route into senior safety management positions as the business continues to grow across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety reviews
- Support project teams in implementing company HSE procedures and policies
- Carry out risk assessments and review RAMS documentation
- Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances
- Deliver toolbox talks and site safety briefings
- Promote a positive and proactive health & safety culture on site
- Liaise with subcontractors and ensure compliance with statutory regulations
- Monitor and report on HSE performance across the project
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and client standards
Requirements
- Previous experience within construction, M&E or major project environments
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (essential)
- Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation
- Experience working on large-scale or technically complex projects preferred
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive and professional approach to site safety
