HSE Advisor Opportunity – Leading Main Contractor – Hyperscale Data Centre
MK Search are working with a well respected tier 1 Main Contractor with a turnover of c. £700m and a longstanding reputation in the data centre, life sciences, residential and commercial sectors across Ireland, The UK and Europe.
The company in question are currently delivering a 60MW hyperscale data centre in Cardiff where they are looking to recruit an experienced HSE Advisor with MEP experience for 6 months with an extension for more work very likely.
They are offering competitive day rates and an opportunity to work with a highly respected team on one of the biggest data centres in the UK.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee and implement all health, safety, and environmental procedures across the MEP scope of works.
- Work closely with MEP teams, subcontractors, and project management to maintain best practices and ensure compliance with site safety protocols.
- Conduct audits, toolbox talks, and inspections specific to mechanical and electrical installation activities.
- Monitor safety performance, risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and site behaviours, ensuring alignment with project and legal standards.
- Support incident investigations and drive continuous improvement in HSE culture on site.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a HSE Advisor on MEP-heavy construction projects
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in a construction environment
- Experience on data centre / mission-critical / industrial projects is highly desirable
- In-depth understanding of UK HSE legislation and CDM Regulations
- Excellent communication and leadership skills across subcontractor and client-facing teams
- Relevant Health & Safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH Managing Safely, SMSTS etc.)
