MK Personnel are recruiting for reliable and hardworking Driver's Mates to join a busy distribution company based in the MK42 area of Bedford. We are looking for people who genuinely want to work 5 days a week. Reliability and attendance are extremely important for this role. You must be able to commit to Monday to Friday every week, be ready to start work at 6:00am, and be flexible with your finish time. Some routes may finish around 2:00pm, while busier or longer routes may continue until approximately 6:00pm.
The Role
- Working alongside a delivery driver, you will help deliver drinks including beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks to pubs, bars, restaurants and hotels.
- This is a physical, fast-paced and customer-facing role involving multiple deliveries throughout the day.
- Your duties will include:
- Assisting the driver with multi-drop deliveries
- Loading and unloading stock, including kegs, cases and crates
- Helping move heavy items safely into customer premises
- Assisting with route navigation and directions
- Acting as a banksman when required to help with vehicle manoeuvring
- Checking deliveries against orders
- Using paperwork and handheld devices/scanners
- Providing good customer service when making deliveries
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
What We're Looking For
- You do not necessarily need previous Driver's Mate experience, but you must have the right attitude and work ethic.
- You will need to be:
- Reliable with excellent attendance
- Able to commit to 5 days per week, Monday to Friday
- Able to reliably get to work for a 6:00am start every day
- Flexible with finish times – you could finish anytime between 2:00pm and 6:00pm
- Physically fit and comfortable with regular heavy lifting
- Hardworking and willing to get stuck in
- Comfortable working at a fast pace
- A good team player
- Polite and professional when dealing with customers
- Comfortable using basic handheld technology
