I'm looking for a reliable electrician to join our team on a subcontractor basis.

Pay: North of Β£31 per hour, negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.

Ideally you'll hold 2391 (or equivalent) testing and inspection certification, with 5 years' experience preferred. We're a small team of four full-time subbies, working mainly within a 5-mile radius of Hampton Court. Most of our work is domestic EICRs for letting agents and small maintenance jobs β€” lots of day-to-day jobbing work. We also do install work, lighting changes, and fault-finding, plus some commercial work, including projects in schools, so you'll need to be able to obtain a clean CRB (we'll cover the cost for that).

We generally work 8am to 4pm, and most of the lads are usually done by around 3pm, unless it's a day rate job. I'm a big believer in swings and roundabouts β€” if there's the odd day where you need to stay an extra 30–45 minutes to get the job finished, I just expect it done, but honestly, that's rare (maybe once every six weeks). At the moment, we've got a lot on, but we only ever book up 2-3 weeks in advance, so this would suit someone local to Shepperton TW17 / Hampton Court TW12 looking to top up their diary 3-5 days a week.

Must-haves:

  • Personable, polite, and professional – you'll be the face of the company.
  • Reliable and trustworthy.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Own transport and tools.
  • Be able to work on your own and be able to use initiative.

Qualification requirement: NVQ L3 2391 or equivalent.

If this sounds like you (or someone you know), give me a shout for a chat. Mike – MK Electrical Contractors.

Experience: Proven experience doing general electrical work, a good understanding of fault finding and install. 5 years desirable. I would consider applications from 2 years post NVQ qualification. Electrical experience in testing both domestic and commercial units is highly desirable.

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: Β£220.00-Β£300.00 per day

Work Location: In person
