Are you an experienced Mechanical professional ready to lead and grow a successful department within a well-established regional contractor? Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, we are seeking a Head of Mechanical Services to join our senior leadership team and take responsibility for the delivery, development, and strategic direction of our Mechanical division.

About the Role

As Head of Mechanical Services, you will lead a dedicated team delivering high-quality M&E solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects, including:

  • NHS and Healthcare facilities
  • Education establishments
  • Commercial Offices
  • Community Buildings
  • Leisure Centres and Sports Facilities

Working closely with the wider M&E and Construction teams, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Mechanical department, including operational and commercial performance.
  • Provide strategic direction and support business growth initiatives.
  • Oversee project delivery from pre-construction through to completion.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, supply chain partners and stakeholders.
  • Support tender submissions, programme planning and procurement strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, health & safety regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Mentor, develop and grow the Mechanical team.
  • Collaborate closely with Electrical, Commercial and Construction teams to achieve business objectives.

About You

  • Proven experience in a senior Mechanical Management or Head of Department role.
  • Strong background delivering M&E projects within healthcare, education, commercial, community or leisure sectors.
  • Sound commercial understanding and contract management experience.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to build strong client relationships and drive repeat business.
  • Relevant Mechanical Engineering qualifications.
  • Ambitious, commercially aware and committed to continuous improvement.
