My client is a growing and dynamic contractor delivering high-quality electrical and construction solutions across commercial, residential, healthcare, and public-sector projects. Due to continued expansion, we are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to strengthen our commercial team.

This is a key position responsible for managing both pre-construction estimating and commercial project delivery. You will play a vital role in ensuring cost-effective project execution while maintaining strong client and supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of detailed and accurate electrical estimates and tenders
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
  • Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
  • Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
  • Supporting bid submissions and client negotiations
  • Managing the commercial lifecycle from project award through to final account
  • Cost planning, tracking and reporting
  • Preparing valuations, variations, and applications for payment
  • Subcontractor procurement, administration, and final accounts
  • Contract administration (JCT / NEC)
  • Managing project risk, cash flow, and margin performance
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Electrical QS, Estimator, or dual-role professional
  • Strong knowledge of electrical installations and M&E projects
  • Experience with JCT and/or NEC contracts
  • Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
Desirable
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Construction
  • Experience working on commercial, healthcare, or public sector projects
  • Knowledge of estimating software
