My client is a growing and dynamic contractor delivering high-quality electrical and construction solutions across commercial, residential, healthcare, and public-sector projects. Due to continued expansion, we are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to strengthen our commercial team.
This is a key position responsible for managing both pre-construction estimating and commercial project delivery. You will play a vital role in ensuring cost-effective project execution while maintaining strong client and supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation of detailed and accurate electrical estimates and tenders
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
- Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
- Supporting bid submissions and client negotiations
- Managing the commercial lifecycle from project award through to final account
- Cost planning, tracking and reporting
- Preparing valuations, variations, and applications for payment
- Subcontractor procurement, administration, and final accounts
- Contract administration (JCT / NEC)
- Managing project risk, cash flow, and margin performance
- Proven experience as an Electrical QS, Estimator, or dual-role professional
- Strong knowledge of electrical installations and M&E projects
- Experience with JCT and/or NEC contracts
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Construction
- Experience working on commercial, healthcare, or public sector projects
- Knowledge of estimating software
