Estimator - New Build Housing & Construction MK Consult are working with an established and growing construction contractor to recruit an experienced Estimator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful business delivering a diverse range of new build housing and construction projects across the North West and wider UK. This role will suit an ambitious Estimator who enjoys working on a variety of projects, has a strong commercial awareness, and thrives in a fast-paced tendering environment. The Role As Estimator, you will play a key role in securing new projects by preparing accurate and competitive tender submissions across residential and construction developments. Key responsibilities include: Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions Reviewing drawings, specifications and contract documents Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations Identifying value engineering opportunities Producing bills of quantities and pricing schedules Attending pre-tender and post-tender meetings Liaising closely with clients, consultants and the operational teams Supporting bid presentations and contract negotiations Maintaining a strong understanding of current market conditions and construction costs About You Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry Experience pricing new build housing, residential or general construction projects Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and procurement routes Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications Excellent numerical and analytical skills Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office Strong communication and negotiation abilities Full UK Driving Licence Desirable Experience New build residential developments Affordable housing schemes Mixed-use and commercial construction projects Education, healthcare or public sector developments What's on Offer?
