Do you want to share your skills? Could you motivate and inspire prison-based learners? MK College Group is recruiting for an inspiring and creative Barbering Lecturer to join the Education Team based on‑site at HMP Grendon and HMP Springhill. This position is also suitable for experienced barbers/hairdressers who do not yet have teaching qualifications and are willing to work towards them in a supportive environment.
As a Barbering Tutor, you will be delivering exciting and engaging topics to develop skills and knowledge in Barbering practices and principles. These could include Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding, Learning Difficulties awareness, among others. We are looking for an experienced industry professional who has worked within a salon or barber shop and is keen to share their practical skills and knowledge.
Due to the requirements for the awarding body, we are seeking an individual who possesses Level 3 Barbering and/or Level 3 qualification in teaching. In terms of the softer skills delivery, support would be provided around content and resources to the successful candidate, to develop these sessions alongside their barbering/hairdressing delivery.
