MK College Group have an exciting new opportunity for a creative English Tutor, to join the team based at HMP Fosse Way, Leicester. (English will be offered from Entry level to Level 2)
As an English Tutor, you will be actively engaging prison-based students with creative classes and
resources. Many of the students have a diverse range of needs and learning abilities, they will often have had
a negative experience with education. As a successful English Teacher, you will truly inspire them and provide
students with a positive learning experience.
This role may involve outreach work outside of the main classroom setting. You will be connecting with students in a professional manner, supporting them with their learning, enabling them to achieve success through not only qualifications, but developing the confidence and softer skills that they can apply to employment as well as other areas of education. You will also have the opportunity to create your own scheme of work and session plans, where you will be given time to create them, working alongside the advanced practitioner for advice on quality.
We are seeking an individual who:
- Has experience or strong knowledge in Functional Skills English or related fields
- Can engage and motivate learners with diverse needs and experiences
- Understands the value of Functional skills in supporting long-term independence
- Builds positive, professional relationships and supports learner success
- Communicates effectively and builds positive, professional relationships with learners
- Is organised and confident in assessment, tracking progress, and meeting awarding-body standards
