About the Company
Our client is a leading commercial fit out specialist based in Canary Wharf, delivering high-quality Cat A and Cat B projects across London and the Southeast. With a strong reputation for excellence, innovation, and client satisfaction, the company works on premium office refurbishments, workplace transformations, and high-spec commercial environments. Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking an experienced Fit Out Project Manager to join their dynamic team.
Role Overview
The Fit Out Project Manager will lead and manage Cat A and Cat B commercial fit out projects from pre-construction through to handover. You will oversee all project planning, procurement, delivery, subcontractor management, health & safety, and client communication to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to exceptional quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple Cat A and Cat B fit out projects ranging from £500k to £10m+.
- Lead the full project lifecycle, including planning, design coordination, procurement, delivery, and handover.
- Develop and maintain project programmes, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
- Oversee site activity to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with specifications.
- Manage project budgets, cost control, valuations, and forecasting.
- Work closely with commercial teams, QSs, and procurement to ensure financial accuracy.
- Review subcontractor quotes, negotiate contracts, and manage performance.
- Act as main point of contact for clients, consultants, landlords, and key stakeholders.
- Lead progress meetings, provide updates, and maintain strong communication channels.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Ensure a safe working environment and adherence to all H&S regulations.
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Manage site managers, supervisors, and subcontractor teams.
- Promote a collaborative and positive project culture.
- Provide guidance, leadership, and support across project teams.
Experience & Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager in commercial fit out.
- Strong background delivering Cat A and Cat B projects in London.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent understanding of construction processes, building regulations, and fit out methodologies.
- Strong commercial awareness and contract knowledge (JCT essential).
- Exceptional organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and project management software.
Desirable
- Formal construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree).
- SMSTS, CSCS Black/Gold Card, First Aid.
- Experience managing projects within occupied buildings or live environments.
