Due to the nature of the role and the need to be embedded with the team and the founders, this is an in-office position with no set work from home arrangement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership and team: Lead and develop the finance function, mentoring the team and building capability as the business scales. Embed strong processes, controls and ways of working across the finance team.
  • Financial control and reporting: Maintain tight financial control across the business, ensuring all cash movements are accurately tracked, reconciled and understood. Ensure robust and accurate monthly reporting, with full ownership of P&L, balance sheet and cashflow, and all key accounts fully reconciled. Lead the year-end process and manage auditors, statutory accounts and compliance. Oversee tax, VAT and HMRC compliance, including hospitality-specific considerations.
  • Planning, strategy and stakeholders: Partner closely with the founders on cashflow, liquidity planning and overall financial strategy. Own and refine forward-looking financial models, supporting decision-making across the group and new openings. Lead board and investor reporting, including building and presenting complex financial models, forecasts and performance updates to investors and lenders. Manage banking relationships, debt facilities and covenant reporting.
  • Commercial finance and FP&A: Lead the group’s FP&A function, owning budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting cycles across all sites and central costs. Translate financial data into clear, actionable insight to support decision-making across operations, marketing and openings. Develop and track key KPIs, driving accountability across the business. Support pricing, menu engineering and revenue optimisation through detailed analysis. Provide scenario analysis on new sites, investments and strategic initiatives. Drive cost control at a granular level, working closely with site teams, Heads of Department and the Head of Commercial to identify opportunities and deliver ongoing cost savings across the business.
  • Commercial and operational support: Partner with Heads of Department to drive profitability, cost control and operational efficiency. Drive site-level performance through margin analysis, labour optimisation, TRONC oversight and KPI tracking. Oversee key supplier contracts and support procurement initiatives to drive savings and consistency. Work with the leadership team on commercial decision-making, including site selection, lease negotiations and investment cases.
  • Growth and systems: Oversee CAPEX planning and tracking for new openings, alongside tight control of pre-opening OPEX. Support a pipeline of new openings in a capital-intensive, fast-moving environment. Own and improve financial systems, controls and reporting processes as the business grows. Support and oversee the finance and operational tech stack, including systems such as Xero, Tenzo, MarketMan, Toast, ApprovalMax and Sona, ensuring data integrity, integration and reporting consistency across the business.

  • Strong track record building complex financial models, cashflow forecasts and long-term plans.
  • Experience presenting financial performance, forecasts and models to investors, lenders and boards.
  • Experience managing lender relationships, debt structures and covenants.
  • Strong commercial finance and FP&A capability, with experience running budgeting and forecasting cycles.
  • Commercially minded, able to translate financial data into clear, actionable insight.
  • Hands-on leadership style, comfortable operating both strategically and in the detail.
