The Rathbane Group comprises four well-established construction and manufacturing businesses, MJM Marine, Mivan, Topglass, and NTS, along with a diversified property and investment portfolio under Rathbane Holdings. The Marketing and Communications Manager will play a key role within the Rathbane Group Marketing function, responsible for delivering day-to-day marketing and communications activity primarily for MJM Marine and our sister Company NTS (Nautical Technical Services), while also supporting Group-wide marketing initiatives. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role suited to a proactive and creative marketing professional. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to marketing delivery while gaining exposure across a dynamic and growing Group structure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content and Communications
    • Create multi-channel content aligned with brand standards.
    • Deliver clear, engaging internal communications to support team alignment.
  • Social Media and Digital Content
    • Plan, create, and schedule engaging social content that builds brand presence.
    • Write clear, on-brand captions and copy to support visual content.
    • Coordinate photography, videography, and other creative production.
    • Track engagement and analytics to inform and improve future content.
  • Design & Visual Content Creation
    • Create impactful visual materials for digital and print, including graphics, brochures, presentations, and proposals.
    • Capture and edit photography and short videos that highlight projects, people, and events.
  • Brand Awareness & Collateral Development
    • Support the creation of marketing collateral, event involvement, and promotional activities.
    • Contribute ideas to boost brand visibility and recognition in target markets.
    • Collaborate on brand and collateral projects for MJM Marine, NTS, and wider Group initiatives.
  • Website Management
    • Maintain and update website visuals and digital assets in line with brand guidelines.
    • Ensure the website consistently delivers a professional, cohesive, high-quality brand experience.
  • Market Research & Insights
    • Conduct desk research on industry trends, competitors, and sector developments to support marketing and content planning.
    • Use insights to guide content strategy, visual direction, and communication initiatives.
  • Based in Newry with occasional international travel for content creation.
  • Collaborate with the Group Marketing team to share assets and best practices.
  • Build strong relationships with project teams, stakeholders, and partners to identify marketing opportunities.
  • People Management
    • Provide strong leadership to the Marketing Team, setting clear goals, managing workloads, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture that supports business objectives and team development.
  • Events
    • Lead the planning, co-ordination and delivery of events, including, but not limited to client visits, client external events and industry showcases.

The Ideal Person will have:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Communications or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years management experience in a marketing or communications role (agency or in-house).
  • Proven copywriting and content creation experience for web, social, and print channels.
  • Proven experience creating high-quality visual content for digital and print platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong eye for detail.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Confident, collaborative, and proactive approach to getting things done.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva or Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar).
  • Experience with social media management tools and website CMS platforms is desirable.

  • This role is aligned with the Group's Marketing Structure, offering opportunities for professional growth within an expanding, integrated marketing function.
  • You will be expected to participate in education, training or development as is necessary to enable the company to achieve objectives.
  • Full-time role or Part-time (4 days per week).
