MJM Marine is a progressive, flexible and rapidly growing specialist joinery and interior fit-out contractor. The business has built a reputation for excellence and innovation by delivering major marine projects for local and global clients and due to significant growth, the opportunity has arisen for a Contracts/Project Manager to join the team at our Newry Office, Northern Ireland.
The successful candidate will form an important part of the Contracts Management team and have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the contract. Other key duties include:
- Managing client relationships
- Providing procurement schedule and overview procurement in conjunction with the Purchasing Department
- Production of a realistic programme in conjunction with the Planning Department
- Chairing weekly project status review meeting
- Allocation of manpower
- Weekly reporting on project progress
- Ensuring effective travel and logistical arrangements in conjunction with the Logistics Department
- Managing all Contractual variances in conjunction with the Commercial Department
- Subcontractor management
- Adhering to company KPI targets
- Responsibility for the overall Contract health and safety requirements
- Providing leadership and direction to Assistant Contract Managers / Project employees
- Working on projects in numerous locations throughout the world
The Ideal Person will:
- Have at least 5 years experience working in the construction / fit out industry as a Contracts/Projects Manager or in a related role
- Demonstrate the ability to successfully manage the delivery of a project/contract from inception
- Demonstrate the ability to work on own initiative
- Demonstrate leadership/ management skills and commercial awareness
- Be proficient in Microsoft Excel
- It would be desirable but not essential if the candidate had experience working in the marine fit out industry.
