MJM Marine is a progressive, flexible and rapidly growing specialist joinery and interior fit-out contractor. The business has built a reputation for excellence and innovation by delivering major marine projects for local and global clients. Due to significant growth, the opportunity has arisen for a Dispatch Operative in our Newry site.
Key Duties Include:
- Ensure the effective dispatch and loading of products and materials within the factory and assist the Stores department with required duties.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles, containers, and trailers manually or using a forklift.
- Receive pallets and items from Stores and Production, ensuring correct packaging and labelling for dispatch.
- Accurately record weights and dimensions of all pallets and items awaiting dispatch.
- Store materials safely and systematically within racking areas.
- Ensure high attention to detail when reviewing items for dispatch in accordance with loading priorities and provided documentation.
- Scan all items accurately to ensure correct order transfer.
- Collect goods from local suppliers and deliver materials to local subcontractors as required.
- Respond to dispatch-related queries from other departments.
- Liaise with the Logistics team to ensure effective communication and timely information flow.
- Carry out daily and weekly visual checks of vehicles and forklifts in line with checklists.
- Maintain forklift certification in line with company requirements and operate all forklift trucks safely.
- Assist the MJM Stores team when workload permits or as directed.
- Perform general warehouse cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Undertake any other duties associated with the role as directed by Management.
Health and Safety
Comply fully with all Company Health and Safety policies, procedures, and safe working practices.
Travel: Occasional travel to other company sites may be required as directed.
Essential Criteria:
- 1-year previous experience in a fast-paced stores or warehouse environment.
- A valid forklift driving certificate.
- Strong computer literacy, including MS Office.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
