We are currently seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to support operational engineering teams working within a major infrastructure environment based at Heathrow. This contract role will provide key support to the site safety function, assisting with the coordination of health, safety, quality and environmental (QHSE) activities, compliance reporting and safety initiatives across operational teams. The successful candidate will work closely with site management and the wider safety team to ensure health and safety processes, risk assessments, safety inspections and reporting activities are effectively coordinated and monitored. This opportunity is offered on a 6â9 month contract basis covering maternity leave and would suit candidates with experience in HSE coordination, safety administration, compliance support or operational safety roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating health and safety compliance activities across engineering and operational teams
- Supporting implementation of health, safety and environmental procedures and initiatives
- Monitoring and reporting on safety KPIs and performance indicators
- Supporting the preparation and communication of toolbox talks, safety briefings and awareness material
- Maintaining and administering incident reporting and safety management systems
- Coordinating the scheduling of risk assessments, workplace inspections and compliance reviews
- Tracking actions raised from audits, safety walks and inspections to ensure closeâout
- Liaising with operational teams to ensure safety actions are completed within agreed timeframes
- Supporting the organisation of safety inspections and leadership safety walks
- Collating monthly health and safety performance data from operational teams
- Producing reports and presentations for site management and safety leadership
- Working collaboratively with operational teams and customer representatives to promote a positive safety culture
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates should demonstrate experience supporting health and safety activities within an operational environment.
Ideal Candidates Will Have
- Previous experience as a Health & Safety Coordinator, HSE Coordinator, H&S Administrator or Compliance Coordinator
- Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and workplace safety practices
- Experience supporting risk assessments, safety audits, inspections or compliance activities
- Strong organisation and coordination skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong IT capability including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience analysing safety data and producing reports and KPI summaries
- Ability to work independently while supporting operational teams
Desirable Experience
- NEBOSH or IOSH health & safety qualification
- Experience supporting internal or external audits
- Experience within engineering, maintenance, facilities management or infrastructure environments
- Experience coordinating risk assessments, inspections or safety walk programmes
- Familiarity with incident reporting or safety management software
