We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join a high-performing UK-based engineering team working across a diverse portfolio of automated systems and infrastructure projects. If you’re a detail-oriented electrical engineer with a passion for system design, compliance, and innovation, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of large-scale, high-impact engineering solutions both in the UK and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review order documentation and assess feasibility in line with technical requirements and project standards.
- Define and plan engineering deliverables in consultation with the Project Leader Engineering (PLE).
- Monitor and report progress, including hours worked and any deviations, to the PLE.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine appropriate electrical components and interfaces.
- Design and calculate full electrical control systems, including supply, power distribution, control cabinets, field wiring, cable routing, and mechanical supports.
- Perform key calculations including power requirements, cable sizing, layout, and selectivity assessments.
- Produce accurate control drawings and technical documentation for use by manufacturers, site teams, and subcontractors.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant procedures, safety standards, and regulations.
- Manage and safeguard the integrity of electrical design throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Conduct quality control and contribute to data and document management processes.
- Support continuous process improvement and self-development through ongoing learning and collaboration.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in electrical design for industrial and low-voltage installations.
- Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD and EPLAN.
- Strong knowledge of electro-technology or energy systems (formal qualification preferred).
- Familiarity with industrial networks such as ProfiNet, AS-i Bus, and Profibus.
- Understanding of electrical components used in Material Handling Systems.
- A structured, collaborative approach to problem-solving and engineering design.
- Ability to manage technical responsibilities while supporting cross-disciplinary teams.
