MJM Industrial Permanent
Job Purpose
To support Heathrow's expanding Baggage Operation, focusing on Equipment Reliability; Maintenance Best Practices; Quality and Continuous Improvement as well as supporting MJM Industrial in fulfilling its short-term and long-term objectives. Ensure that the Stores Management contract is delivering to the customers’ requirements and provide assurance to safeguard both MJM Industrial and Heathrow’s reputation.
As well as working as part of the Stores team to ensure Baggage system spares availability across all Terminals at Heathrow Airport, this role will also assist in the delivery of the stores services across all other client areas of the Stores Management contracts.
Applying candidates must have a valid Forklift license and drivers license.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling, lifting, and carrying items safely using the correct techniques
- Ad hoc loading and unloading of both Company and suppliers vehicles
- Receiving of all baggage system spares, consumables, stationary and associated items ensuring goods are delivered correctly
- Ensuring that all spares are labelled correctly as per the SMS (Stock Management System) and highlighting any issues so that they can be resolved
- To ensure all COSHH items are stored and labelled correctly, the RAs and datasheets are available for each item
- Good housekeeping, making sure that all areas of the stores are kept clean and tidy, all rubbish disposed of, following the correct waste streams for recycling
- Carry out regular stock audits as required to ensure stock accuracy is maintained
- Driving a Company vehicle (flatbed/vans/luton) as required
- Complete all pre-usage checks prior to using any vehicles/MHE and reporting any faults for rectification
- Complete daily stores checklists and weekly consumable checklists
- Liaise with terminal engineers as and when required
- Assist in stock transfers
- Overtime may be required during peak periods to meet company deadlines
- Use of all Company IT Systems and programs to undertake all aspects of this role as required
- Any other duties that the company may reasonably ask you to perform which are within your expertise and skill sets
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the Management Team
Key Skills/Experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Able to build rapport and maintain good relationships
- Ability to motivate and inspire colleagues to perform at their best
- A proactive approach with the ability to work well in a team or alone
- Ability to work independently with minimal or no direct management
- Ability to learn quickly to gain knowledge of the Airport baggage system
- Must have a 5-year checkable work history to obtain an Airside Pass
- Must be confident to drive larger vehicles including but limited to luton/flatbed
- Must hold a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 2 years (insurance purposes)
- Must be willing to attend relevant training to role as required
- To be flexible to support the business as required
- Commit to safe systems of work
- Be familiar with, and comply with, Company policies, procedures, and training – whether health & safety, environmental standards, quality ways of working
