Electrical Project Manager Company: MJM Industrial Ltd Location: Heathrow / Colnbrook Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Reporting to: Senior Management Role Overview MJM Industrial Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our Projects team, based from our offices near Heathrow. The role will involve managing the delivery of electrical projects from initial planning and mobilisation through to installation, testing, commissioning and final handover. MJM undertakes a varied portfolio of electrical and M&E projects, with the majority of our work located at Heathrow Airport. Our wider client base includes food production and manufacturing facilities, theme parks, material production facilities and other commercial and industrial environments. Projects range from electrical fit-out and refurbishment works through to industrial electrical installations, modifications, upgrades and multidisciplinary M&E packages. We are looking for a practical and commercially aware Project Manager who can take ownership of projects, manage site teams and subcontractors, maintain strong client relationships and ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget. The position is predominantly Heathrow and office based and does not ordinarily require extensive travel or regular working away from home. Key Responsibilities * Take responsibility for electrical projects from pre-construction and mobilisation through to completion and handover. * Review project scopes, specifications, drawings and tender information to establish project requirements. * Develop project programmes, short-term look-aheads, installation sequences and resource plans. * Plan and coordinate electrical installation activities alongside other trades and project disciplines. * Manage fit-out, refurbishment, installation, modification and upgrade projects within both construction and live operational environments. * Monitor progress against programme and implement corrective actions where required. * Identify design, access, programme and constructability issues and coordinate their resolution. * Manage procurement requirements in conjunction with suppliers and the wider project team. * Coordinate testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover. * Ensure project documentation and records are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. Projects are predominantly undertaken at Heathrow Airport, alongside works for clients within sectors including: Aviation & Airports | Food Production | Manufacturing | Theme Parks & Attractions | Material Production | Logistics & Material Handling | Commercial & Industrial Facilities Experience & Skills Essential * Demonstrable experience managing electrical installation projects. * Strong electrical engineering or electrical installation background. * Experience delivering electrical fit-out, refurbishment and/or industrial projects. * Experience managing site-based electrical teams and subcontractors. * Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, specifications and technical documentation. * Good understanding of project programmes, sequencing and resource planning. * Strong commercial awareness, including labour productivity, procurement, variations and cost control. * Good knowledge of electrical installation standards and safe working practices. * Experience producing and/or reviewing RAMS and project documentation. * Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management skills. * Good organisational and problem-solving abilities. * Full UK driving licence. Desirable Experience within any of the following would be advantageous but is not essential: Heathrow Airport or another major airport environment. Electrical fit-out and refurbishment. Food production or manufacturing. Theme parks or visitor attractions. Material production and processing. Industrial automation. Material handling and conveyor systems. Live operational environments. Multidisciplinary M&E projects. Principal contractor environments. Previous airport experience and existing Heathrow knowledge would be beneficial; however, candidates with strong electrical project management experience from other commercial or industrial sectors are encouraged to apply. Qualifications Candidates should have a recognised electrical qualification and/or substantial relevant industry experience. Relevant qualifications may include: Electrical Installation or Electrical Engineering qualification. City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation. BS 7671 Wiring Regulations. SMSTS or equivalent. ECS/CSCS certification appropriate to the role. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent. Formal project management qualifications such as APM or PRINCE2 would be advantageous but are not essential where suitable practical project management experience can be demonstrated.
