Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager
Put a jewel in your crown! A fantastic opportunity for a Chartered Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a fabulous international development consultancy in Central London. A niche business with a superb reputation in managing landmark schemes across residential, commercial, retail and leisure markets.
They're seeking to recruit a MRICS Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing cost team to immediately manage the fit out phases of an iconic residential development project, lead two new build student accommodation projects and a boutique 5* hotel in London.
Our client is keen to consider applications from surveying professionals either from contracting or private practice (PQS) background. Those wanting to apply must have at least five years post Quantity Surveying degree qualification experience. MRICS status is a prerequisite here. Extensive knowledge of D&B procurement methods including Construction Management is also highly advantageous. The role will assume day-to-day lead Quantity Surveying responsibility – on site.
Responsibilities include:
- Procurement of contractors under a trade contract
- Placing client direct orders for selected materials and overseeing financial performance
- Ensuring all parties understand and adhere to contractual obligations
- Resolving contractual and commercial related issues
- Reviewing and improving operational standards and procedures.
- Cost reporting, valuations, change control, cost optimisation, attending various meetings on site and chairing commercial meetings.
- Building a network of strong relationships with key contacts across the industry to develop new business opportunities.
- Line management responsibility with business development aptitude / awareness
