DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

MJ Quinn are proud to have an industry leading Training Academy through which all our engineers are inducted, trained and accredited.

In 2024, we safely and successfully welcomed over 3500 engineers, delivering in excess of 9000 accreditations.

In 2025 our Technical Training Team has continued to grow, and we have developed our facilities further, with the addition of more classrooms and increased internal and external live training environments. Additional training sites have been developed nationally for Civils and Poling activities. The Training Academy holds SMART Awards centre approval, alongside several client awarded licenses. The technical training admin team has also seen substantial growth to assist with the higher demand for training and accreditation compliance.

Our team of dedicated trainers are qualified to assess and accredit engineers across a wide range of industry recognised safety and client led craft qualifications, including copper and fibre provision and repair, network build, network maintenance, poling, civils, surveying and heavy cable recovery.

JOB OBJECTIVE

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Training and Assessment Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality training and assessment support across our technical programmes. You’ll work closely with trainers, assessors, and learners to ensure smooth operations and an excellent learning experience.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in the coordination and delivery of technical training sessions and assessments.

Prepare and maintain training materials, equipment, and resources.

Support trainers and assessors with administrative tasks, including scheduling and record-keeping.

Monitor learner progress and provide support where needed.

Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the training department.

PERSON SPECIFICAITON

Strong organisational and communication skills.

A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Experience in an educational, training, or technical support role is desirable.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Competency in using Microsoft Office and other digital tools.

Rate of Pay £23,800 per annum

Work Location Knowsley

Travel Requirements On Occasion to other sites

Holiday Entitlements 6.6 week per annum, inclusive of bank holidays and company shutdowns.
