DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
MJ Quinn provides critical infrastructure and Energy support in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing works. Our project department delivers high quality design and installation works to public services, particularly in the healthcare, energy and communications sectors.
JOB OBJECTIVE
Reporting to our Managing Director, this role is responsible for managing the effective and efficient delivery of a new ongoing M&E construction project and taking full responsibility for all personnel working on that contract and delivering services to the required SLA. Developing strong commercial relationships to expand the offer locally.
Your role will include:
- Ensuring that the health, safety and wellbeing of all personnel is kept as the top priority and that all jobs are completed in line with H&S requirements.
- Travel 20%-25% of the time.
- Negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Planning work and organising labour in line with service requirements and to ensure that all work is being completed on time and within budget.
- Identifying ways to increase efficiency and improve productivity within onsite teams.
- Corresponding with external stakeholders to document all activities.
- Compiling and delivering presentations to clients and suppliers.
- Collecting and collating data for forecasting and planning purposes.
- Lead and motivate project teams ensuring that policies and procedures are consistently applied throughout each area.
- Ensure that all work is compliant in line with contractual obligations, industry, and the company’s high standards.
- Ensure that client updates and communication are timely and accurate, and that accounting is transparent throughout the contract.
Experience:
- Previous experience of working on NEC 3-4 contracts.
- Previous experience of working on healthcare project delivery from a contract management perspective.
- Recognised Building Services Qualification – ONC / HNC in Building services engineering.
- Strong experience of programme / contract management.
- Strong mechanical & electrical system background to ensure full understanding of systems for installation on designated project.
- Enjoy a challenge, have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
