We’re looking for a Mechanical Estimator to support tendering for building services projects. This role suits someone coming off the tools who wants to move into an office-based estimating career.
Essential Background:
- Previously worked as a Plumber, Gas Engineer, or HVAC Engineer
- Looking to transition into an estimating role
- Experience or strong understanding of mechanical materials take-offs
- Solid knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, pipework, plant)
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce or support mechanical take-offs, costings, and tenders
- Interpret drawings and specifications
- Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotes
- Assist with cost planning and value engineering
Requirements:
- Practical mechanical/MEP experience (on the tools)
- Good numerical and organisational skills
- Basic IT skills (Excel)
- Ability to learn and develop in estimating
Training and development will be provided depending on experience level.
