DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Recruitment Department plays a vital role in attracting, selecting, and retaining top talent to drive organisational success. Our primary focus is ensuring that the workforce possesses the right skills, experience, and capabilities to meet both immediate and future business needs. Through strategic workforce planning and data-driven decision-making, we identify skill gaps and develop resourcing strategies that align with organisational goals. We utilise a variety of recruitment methods, including internal promotions, external hiring, and talent pipelines, to secure the best candidates for each role. Beyond filling vacancies, we contribute to long-term workforce development by enhancing employer branding, fostering diversity and inclusion, and optimising recruitment processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

JOB OBJECTIVE
The Recruiter plays a key role in supporting the end‑to‑end engagement of sub‑contractor workers, ensuring a structured, compliant, and efficient recruitment and onboarding process. The role involves coordinating resourcing activity across multiple workstreams, liaising with hiring managers, sub‑contractors, agencies, and internal stakeholders to support timely and effective engagement. The Recruiter will manage candidate communications, documentation, and system updates to ensure all engagements are accurately recorded and compliant. Key objectives include scheduling interviews, supporting sourcing activity, maintaining recruitment and compliance records, and assisting with screening processes appropriate to sub‑contractor engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively source, attract, and engage sub‑contractors and contingent labour through approved channels including job boards, agency partners, social platforms, networking, and referrals.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines to support current and future project‑based and operational resourcing requirements.
  • Coordinate the recruitment lifecycle for sub‑contractor engagement, including role advertising, candidate sourcing, interview scheduling, selection coordination, and offer documentation.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand assignment requirements, skill needs, availability, and engagement timelines.
  • Review applications and CVs to identify suitably qualified and experienced candidates against role criteria.
  • Conduct initial screening conversations to assess skills, experience, availability, and suitability for assignment‑based engagement.
  • Act as a key point of contact throughout the engagement process, ensuring clear, professional, and timely communication.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment and compliance records, ensuring all documentation is completed in line with company policies and applicable legislation.
  • Support adherence to appropriate engagement frameworks, ensuring clear distinction between sub‑contractor and PAYE recruitment processes.
  • Collaborate with Training and Operations teams to align resourcing activity with business needs.
  • Support recruitment marketing activity, contractor engagement initiatives, and attendance at relevant industry or networking events.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Proven ability to source and engage sub‑contractors or contingent workers using a range of resourcing methods.
  • Experience conducting screening interviews and assessing technical skills and assignment suitability.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with hiring managers, agencies, and external partners.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with candidates and supply partners.
  • Experience supporting offer processes and engagement documentation within agreed frameworks.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple live requirements and changing priorities.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail when managing recruitment data, records, and compliance documentation.
  • Understanding of employer branding within the contractor market and how to position opportunities appropriately.
  • Previous experience in a recruitment or resourcing coordination role.
  • Experience supporting high‑volume resourcing as well as specialist or niche skill requirements.
