MJ Quinn is a contractor for the provision of Mechanical and Electrical services. Our Mechanical and Electrical Department for the role of the Air Conditioning Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of various HVAC equipment on client buildings, covering the length and breadth of the UK.
Reporting to the Service, Warranty and Product Manager within the Cooling Division, works would be predominantly servicing in the buildings for the contracts that we deliver whilst carrying out the installation and commissioning of our products, and to act as a line of support to our clients throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities:- To always promote a positive and professional image of the department, by adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Work as part of a larger team to develop working practices and procedures.
- Attend various types of premises to install new cooling units and associated systems/services.
- Issue all paperwork associated with newly installed projects.
- Attend client premises to de-gas existing DX air conditioning units.
- Attend client premises to fault find and fix various types of cooling units.
- Take warranty calls from client representatives to fault find over a telephone call.
- Work as part of an out of hours call out team on an agreed rota.
- Perform quality checks to ensure systems are working efficiently and safely.
- Discuss the requirements with the customer/client.
- Inspect, test, certify, and commission all works completed.
- Identify and rectify faults.
- Collect key data and ensure that it is captured within their job report.
- Maintain and build up a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders including colleagues, customers, suppliers, and senior management teams.
- Be able to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team.
- Communicate effectively with all other departments.
To be successful in this role the Air Conditioning Engineer will:
- Hold a full driving license with no more than 6 points and no bans within the last 12 months.
- Level 3 Diploma in Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems.
- Hold a valid CSCS card.
- Experience in a previous role.
- Have strong planning, organisation, and monitoring abilities.
- Enjoy a challenge, have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Have a high standard of numeracy.
- Be computer literate.
- A clear understanding and knowledge of British standards.
- A legal right to work in the UK.
- As a requirement for the Mechanical and Electrical Department, an enhanced DBS check must be passed due to the client buildings being visited.
