We are currently recruiting for Poling Operative – Drivers to join our Midlands Team. As a Poling Operative, you will be responsible for the installation and removal of poles, including dressing new poles covering the Midlands region. This is an entry-level position and all training will be provided. After an 18-week training period, earning potentials will vastly increase. This will be discussed in further detail on a telephone interview. Our course will start on 9th February 2026.

Essential Requirements:

  • HGV Class 2 licence
  • Valid CPC and understanding of Tachograph driving laws
  • Strong work ethic and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Professional communication skills
  • Organised, self-motivated, and achievement-oriented
  • Basic computer literacy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Replace damaged, decayed, or defective poles in the Openreach network
  • Install new poles to support customer connections
  • Ensure all work meets client specifications and safety standards
  • Maintain driving standards and legal compliance
  • Adhere to Health & Safety legislation and company/client policies

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the Openreach network
  • Groundworks or civils experience
  • IPAF 1B NPORS N107 or equivalent
  • Full NRSWA Streetworks operative-level qualification
  • 360 Excavator operation
  • PASMA certification
