We are currently recruiting for a Poling Operative – Driver to join our South Wales Team. As a Poling Operative, you will be responsible for installation and removal of poles, including dressing new poles covering the South Wales region. This is an entry level position and all training and accreditations will be provided. Training will be paid at a rate between £90 – £105 per day. Pay rates will be discussed in further detail via telephone. Our course will start on 13th April 2026.
Essential Requirements
- HGV Class 2 licence
- Valid CPC and understanding of Tachograph driving laws
- Strong work ethic and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Professional communication skills
- Organised, self‑motivated, and achievement‑oriented
- Basic computer literacy
Key Responsibilities
- Replace damaged, decayed, or defective poles in the Openreach network
- Install new poles to support customer connections
- Ensure all work meets client specifications and safety standards
- Maintain driving standards and legal compliance
- Adhere to Health & Safety legislation and company/client policies
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience working in the Openreach network
- Groundworks or civils experience
- IPAF 1B NPORS N107 or equivalent
- Full NRSWA Streetworks operative‑level qualification
- 360 Excavator operation
- PASMA certification
