Overview

As part of our partnership with Openreach, which operates the UK’s largest fibre broadband network, we are committed to delivering quarterly target homes passed (THP) in numerous areas. The Planner plays a vital role in this process by allocating, scheduling, and issuing jobs to suppliers. This position involves closely monitoring the progress of works to ensure they are completed within agreed timescales, enabling the wider team to effectively plan and deliver on project targets. The Planner is essential in helping MJQ contribute to expanding broadband access to thousands of homes each year.

Responsibilities

  • Accepting jobs and allocating these to the necessary suppliers, as well as scheduling these works to be completed.
  • Liaising with the client in regards to queries surrounding jobs.
  • Ensuring that delivery forecast trackers and documents are kept up to date daily.
  • Liaising with other departments within MJQ to discuss additional requirements such as Traffic Management, Commercial and Streetworks team.
  • Assisting with the closing down of jobs once works have been completed.

Experience and skills

  • Computer literate – experience of working with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience of working in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Strong administration and organisation skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, ensure deadlines are met and manage business expectations.
  • Have a strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.
