DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Renewables division delivers multi-technology renewable energy projects—including solar PV, wind, hydro, and biomass—ensuring technical accuracy, quality, and safe execution throughout all stages of construction.
JOB OBJECTIVE
The Site Engineer will be responsible for setting out, surveying, and ensuring the accurate execution of engineering designs across multiple renewable energy projects (solar, wind, hydro, or biomass). They will act as the technical link between design teams and on-site construction, reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish site coordinates and reference points using GPS, total stations, and laser levels.
- Transfer design drawings into accurate site layouts.
- Verify construction works align with approved engineering drawings.
- Supervise contractors and subcontractors to ensure works are carried out to specification.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks.
- Maintain accurate records of site measurements, surveys, and as-built drawings.
- Prepare daily/weekly site reports for the Senior Project Manager.
- Support technical problem-solving and provide engineering input during construction.
- Liaise with design engineers, project managers, and clients where required.
- Communicate technical requirements clearly to site teams.
- Assist in client and regulatory inspections when required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualification in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Renewable Energy Engineering.
- Experience in setting out and surveying on construction projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software and surveying equipment (total station, GPS).
- Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems and construction practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Health & Safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent) preferred.
