Working Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:00 (37.5 hours)

Salary: £24,000 – £26,000 (dependant on experience)

We are seeking an enthusiastic Planner – Fibre build to join our company. This role involves overseeing fibre installation works across Cheltenham, Gloucester, Churchdown, ensuring all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with network standards. You will support the Field Manager in coordinating day-to-day operations and act as the first point of contact for fibre engineers in the field. A key part of the role includes providing regular updates on field progress to the back office and fostering strong working relationships with Local Highway Authorities (HA) to support smooth project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Accepting jobs and allocating these to the necessary suppliers, as well as scheduling these works to be completed.
  • Liaising with the client in regards to queries surrounding jobs.
  • Ensuring that delivery forecast trackers and documents are kept up to date daily.
  • Liaising with other departments within MJQ to discuss additional requirements such as Traffic Management, Commercial and Streetworks team.
  • Assisting with the closing down of jobs once works have been completed.

Experience and skills

  • Computer literate – experience of working with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience of working in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Strong administration and organisation skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, ensure deadlines are met and manage business expectations.
  • Have a strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.
