- Job Purpose
To lead and supervise fleet colleagues, ensuring the delivery of a professional, efficient and customer-focused fleet service across the business.
The Fleet Support Supervisor will be responsible for developing team capability, managing workloads, maintaining data integrity, driving continuous improvement and supporting operational fleet activities.
This role combines people leadership, fleet administration, systems management and hands‑on operational support, ensuring fleet processes, compliance requirements and service standards are delivered effectively whilst supporting the wider Fleet Operations function.
- Team Leadership & People Management
- Supervise and support the day-to-day activities of the Fleet Department.
- Allocate workloads and priorities to ensure service levels and business objectives are achieved.
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, coaching sessions and performance reviews.
- Identify training and development requirements and support team growth.
- Promote a positive, accountable and customer-focused culture.
- Manage attendance, conduct and performance matters in accordance with company policies.
- Lead by example and encourage high standards of professionalism and service delivery.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and induction activities.
- Develop succession plans and support the progression of team members.
- Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing across the Fleet Department.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key point of contact for fleet-related queries and escalations.
- Build strong relationships with operational teams, managers, drivers, suppliers and corporate departments.
- Communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing.
- Lead team meetings and communicate key departmental messages.
- Handle complaints, challenges and escalated issues in a professional manner.
- Ensure all written communications meet company standards.
- Systems, Technology & Data Management
- Maintain high standards of data quality and record management.
- Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and management information.
- Utilise Microsoft 365 applications to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Analyse data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the development and implementation of new systems and technology.
- Produce management information and KPI reports for key stakeholders.
- Ensure fleet records remain accurate, compliant and audit ready.
- Support automation initiatives and continuous improvement programmes.
- Work with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve processes through technology.
- Operational Fleet Support
- Provide day-to-day operational support across all fleet activities.
- Support vehicle ordering, allocation, replacement, mobilisation and disposal programmes.
- Assist with vehicle inspections, gate checks and fleet condition monitoring.
- Support vehicle damage management processes, including investigation, recording and recovery activities.
- Coordinate supplier activity and escalated service concerns where required.
- Monitor fleet service requests to ensure timely completion and customer satisfaction.
- Support vehicle off-hire and hire processes, ensuring assets meet company standards.
- Assist with fleet compliance monitoring and ensure accurate records are maintained.
- Support driver onboarding, inductions and fleet communications.
- Assist with operational investigations relating to incidents, vehicle damage and fleet-related matters.
- Support fleet projects, operational initiatives and business improvement activities.
- Provide practical support during periods of increased operational demand.
- Work closely with the Fleet Operations Team Leader and manager to ensure consistent service delivery across the department.
- Support the delivery of road risk and fleet compliance initiatives supporting the fleet compliance manager.
- Maintain strong working relationships with fleet suppliers, rental partners and repair networks.

- General Experience / Qualifications
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team.
- Experience within a fleet, transport, logistics or service-based environment.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder management experience.
- Experience managing workloads and competing priorities.
- Experience producing reports and analysing operational data.
- Demonstrable experience of process improvement and change implementation.
- Advanced Microsoft 365 skills including
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business in various methods
- Ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
- Strong organisational and delegation skills.
- Experience working within a fleet or transport background.
