Working Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:00 (37.5 hours)

Salary: £24,000 – £26,000 (dependant on experience)

The Department you will be working in is the OSA 2 poling team. The OSA 2 contract is a key delivered programme within MJ QUINNS telecom division, operated in close partnership with Openreach. The department is responsible for the planning, coordination and execution with a particular focus on the inspection, maintenance and replacement of the telecom poles and associated infrastructure across regions of England and Wales.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule daily and weekly work programmes for engineers undertaking telecoms pole replacements.
  • Liaise with Openreach planners, field engineers and Subcontractors to ensure all jobs are validated, scoped, and ready for execution with SLA.
  • Coordinate with local authorities to obtain permits and traffic management requirements for pole works.
  • Maintain and update planning systems (e.g., Excel trackers, internal databases, spreadsheets) to track job progress and completions.
  • Provide daily and weekly reports on progress, completion rates, and outstanding issues to management and Openreach stakeholders.
  • Ensure resource allocation aligns with operational capacity and project deadlines.
  • Identify potential risks or delays in the schedule and proactively implement mitigation plans.
  • Communicate effectively with field teams, supervisors, and the Openreach control centre to ensure smooth delivery of work.

Experience and skills

  • Previous experience in telecoms, utilities, or construction planning.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other planning tools or databases.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
