Job Summary

Working hours: 08:00 – 16:30 Monday to Friday

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 (p/a dependant on experience)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fibre Manager to oversee operations and lead our team towards achieving excellence. The role involves overseeing fibre installation works across Cheltenham and Gloucestershire, with a focus on ensuring project efficiency, safety, and compliance. The successful candidate will support and manage the Field Supervisor, act as the main point of contact for fibre engineers, and coordinate closely with the Civils Manager to deliver a cost-effective network. Responsibilities include monitoring field progress, reporting completions to the back office, and fostering strong working relationships with local Highway Authorities (HA). A key aspect of the role is driving operational improvements to ensure timely and budget-conscious project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise directly with HA and build relationships
  • Liaise directly with suppliers including weekly meetings
  • Manage Fibre workload with suppliers
  • Ensure all works are completed on-time safely and to quality standards
  • To ensure build is delivered within target dates
  • Carry out a minimum of 2 weekly safety checks
  • Manage field supervisors ensuring there role is met
  • Attend meeting in person/remote to discuss work requirements and project targets
  • Ensure all health and safety is met onsite and any near misses/ incidents are reported in the correct manner
  • Conduct Safety checks on Partners/ Direct Labour
  • Find solutions to complex issues onsite
  • Liaise with Partners, Stakeholders and Council
  • Replanning works and creating supporting documentation to save costs
  • Creating A55s for civils requirements
  • Ensure glide targets are attainable and are met weekly

Experience and skills

  • Build Experience on Openreach network (Desirable)
  • Experience in a similar role within a Telecoms industry (Essential)
  • Experience dealing with local authorities (Desirable)
  • Proficiency in Excel and Outlook
  • Organised
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships to facilitate collaborations and build relationships
  • Critical Thinker
  • Excellent problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
