DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Asset Management department is a key part of the Logistics function, ensuring that testing equipment and assets for use by in‑field engineers are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant regulations.
JOB OBJECTIVE
The Equipment & PPE Inspector Supervisor is responsible for leading, coaching, and performance‑managing a team of field‑based Asset & PPE Inspectors, ensuring inspectors operate safely, consistently, and in full compliance with regulatory and company standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and support a team of Equipment & PPE Inspectors in a field‑based environment
- Carry out formal 6‑monthly safety checks on each inspector
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and feedback to inspectors
- Conduct regular coaching, performance reviews, and development discussions
- Manage individual and team performance against agreed KPIs, quality standards, and compliance requirements
- Identify and address performance issues promptly
- Monitor inspection quality, audit outcomes, and completion rates
- Carry out supervisory audits and spot‑checks
- Act as the escalation point for safety, compliance, or technical issues
- Ensure inspectors maintain required training, accreditations, and competencies
- Maintain accurate records of safety checks, coaching, and performance activity
- Liaise with internal stakeholders including Health & Safety, Operations, and Logistics
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
Essential
- Experience supervising or leading field‑based teams
- Strong understanding of safety, compliance, inspection, or auditing environments
- Proven experience in coaching individuals and managing performance
- Ability to address underperformance constructively and confidently
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities across a dispersed team
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Telecommunications industry experience
- Knowledge of Asset, PPE inspection, PAT testing, or calibration
- Health & Safety or auditing qualifications
- Experience supervising inspectors or auditors
