We’re hiring Support Engineers to join our Service Delivery team across the UK. This is a field-based role focused on underground pathway clearance, civils avoidance techniques, and soft digging in verges. You’ll use hand digging tools, Cat & Genny for cable detection, and carry out blockage clearance and installation of small duct lengths. You’ll play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality service across our infrastructure projects. This role is offered on a self-employed sub-contractor basis and is not a PAYE employment opportunity. Successful applicants will be engaged under a contract for services and must comply with all applicable tax and legal requirements relating to their business activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underground pathway clearance using civils avoidance techniques
  • Soft digging in verges and safe use of hand tools
  • Cat & Genny operation for cable detection
  • Blockage clearance and installation of small duct lengths
  • Adherence to health and safety standards
  • Clear communication with site teams and supervisors
  • Accurate reporting and documentation of work

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience in underground utility work or similar field roles
  • Proficiency with Cat & Genny and soft digging techniques
  • Strong understanding of civils avoidance and safety practices
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 2 years

Desirable Skills & Accreditations:

  • SA006 Safe Working in Civils
  • NRSWA Street Works Accreditation
  • K008 Underground Services Detection
  • Telecommunications and Civils Network Build Qualifications (Q019/Q020/Q021)
  • Experience with duct installation and blockage clearance
  • Strong communication and reporting skills
