About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Care Home Manager to lead a nursing and residential care home, providing high-quality care for elderly residents, including those with dementia. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within a home under new ownership, which does require some improvements. You will get full support from the ops manager and regional ops director to drive improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the care home, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with CQC regulations.
  • Lead and support a multidisciplinary team, including the Deputy Manager, Unit Manager, Nurses, and Care Assistants.
  • Manage budgets, financial planning, and report on business performance to the directors.
  • Increase occupancy through effective marketing, assessments, and community engagement.
  • Maintain and improve the home's CQC rating, ensuring excellence across all areas.
  • Develop and implement staff training, performance management, and scheduling.
  • Foster a positive, professional working environment that supports staff development and well-being.

Requirements

  • NMC-registered nurse (Adult or Mental Health).
  • Minimum two years of experience as a Registered Manager in an elderly nursing care home.
  • Proven track record of maintaining high standards and achieving at least a Good CQC rating.
  • NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or working towards).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage, inspire, and develop a diverse care team.

This purpose-built building is currently undergoing an extension and provides Nursing, Residential, Dementia, and Respite care in a warm and supportive environment. It is a mid-sized home. The home has a requires improvement CQC rating, with some areas that do need changing, improving and overall a strong leader to inspire a team and implement these changes.
