About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Care Home Manager to lead a nursing and residential care home, providing high-quality care for elderly residents, including those with dementia. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within a home under new ownership, which does require some improvements. You will get full support from the ops manager and regional ops director to drive improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the care home, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with CQC regulations.
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary team, including the Deputy Manager, Unit Manager, Nurses, and Care Assistants.
- Manage budgets, financial planning, and report on business performance to the directors.
- Increase occupancy through effective marketing, assessments, and community engagement.
- Maintain and improve the home's CQC rating, ensuring excellence across all areas.
- Develop and implement staff training, performance management, and scheduling.
- Foster a positive, professional working environment that supports staff development and well-being.
Requirements
- NMC-registered nurse (Adult or Mental Health).
- Minimum two years of experience as a Registered Manager in an elderly nursing care home.
- Proven track record of maintaining high standards and achieving at least a Good CQC rating.
- NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or working towards).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage, inspire, and develop a diverse care team.

This purpose-built building is currently undergoing an extension and provides Nursing, Residential, Dementia, and Respite care in a warm and supportive environment. It is a mid-sized home. The home has a requires improvement CQC rating, with some areas that do need changing, improving and overall a strong leader to inspire a team and implement these changes. Despite this, the home is fully occupied and has a good local reputation as a care facility. Part of a small care provider who has ambitions to run the home with good clinical and care standards, they are keen to support new changes and willing to invest in the service.
